Manager Tells Employee to Postpone his Mental Breakdown After Office Hours

A Bengaluru manager has asked one of his employees to postpone his mental breakdown until after office hours.

Reportedly, the employee had just moved to Bengaluru from his hometown and, due to stress caused by work, language, house hunting, etc., he started having a mental breakdown. Instead of comforting him, the manager dropped an official email not only asking him to postpone this until after office hours but also asking other employees who were trying to calm him down to focus on work instead of friendship in the office.

Speaking to Fauxy, the manager said, “I don’t care what you do after office, but from 9 AM to 9 PM I own you, but these Gen Zs don’t get it.”

Currently, the manager is writing a LinkedIn post titled “How I Turned an Employee’s Mental Breakdown into a Productivity Opportunity.”
