Saudi Arabia has reportedly asked the Houthis to attack Pakistan instead.
A day after Yemen's Houthi forces claimed responsibility for attacking an airbase and Aramco facilities in Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom has reportedly requested that the Houthis target Pakistan instead, arguing that it has much less to lose and that, under the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement signed by Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, attacking Pakistan would still amount to attacking Saudi Arabia.
Pakistan, however, appears to be on a different page. It has reportedly asked the United States to provide relief material and fresh loans, claiming that the Houthi attack on Saudi Arabia should also be treated as an attack on Pakistan under the same agreement.
Speaking to The Fauxy, a Houthi leader said, "We'll let Saudi Arabia and Pakistan decide whom we should attack. We'll wait until then."
Currently, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are reportedly arguing over which of them the Houthis should actually attack.
